Director of Photography / Cinematographer
Based in Vancouver BC, Canada.

Brian Cheung (He/Him) is a Vancouver-based cinematographer with over a decade of experience in commercial, corporate, and documentary work. He is a fully licensed Advanced Drone Pilot and an Associate Member of the Canadian Society of Cinematographers (CSC), with a passion for crafting authentic, emotive, and thought-provoking images. Recently, he served as Director of Photography on the independent feature film Jonah (2024), now streaming on Apple TV and Amazon Prime, and nominated for a 2024 Leo Award for Motion Picture Cinematography. He also worked on The Lightkeeper, an Irish period romance, as 2nd Unit DP. Brian collaborates closely with brands, agencies, and fellow creatives to tell meaningful, visually rich stories—one project at a time.

As a kid, I always carried a camera with me, not just to document moments but to connect with people around me. One summer, I saved up enough to buy my first camcorder, driven by curiosity, adventure, and the joy of making scrappy films with friends while discovering how powerful moving images could be.
That early spark has never left me. Over time, it has grown into a quiet commitment to telling stories that matter, stories that might otherwise go unnoticed. At the heart of it, I am still chasing that same sense of wonder I felt as a kid: the belief that every project, big or small, is an adventure worth capturing.
